TEXT: NEHEMIAH 6:15,16
Key verse: “So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days” ( Nehemiah 6:15 ).

Nothing smells nice like success. Nothing stimulates, keeps alive or maintains courage more than seeing success in one's endeavour.

The rebuilding of the walls and gates of Jerusalem was begun and completed in fifty-two days. Nehemiah and his building crew, showed great commitment. They neither gave in to blackmail nor discouragement. Their minds were fixed. Their unity was commendable. While the enemy boasted, their goal was to build the wall. Strategies were proffered to withstand the incursion of the enemy. What made the completion outstanding? Daniel predicted the rebuilding of the city walls in troublous times” ( Daniel 9:25 ). So, it was a prophecy fulfilled. It was a big job with daunting trouble, yet it was done.

As Nehemiah and his workers cheerfully and enthusiastically completed the work, God expects us to be dutiful, diligent and thorough in whatever we lay our hands upon. There is nothing to be compared to good result. It shows effectiveness.

Have you become a Christian? Be a victorious one, continue and endure to the end. Get involved in God's service and ministry, see to it that souls are won, matured and discipled for Christ. As a missionary, a breakthrough and open door of the gospel is your joy. For results, set your goals, make plans to achieve your goals, embark on strategies to purposefully extend your plans without distractions. Be involved. Employ the unity of the brethren. Carry along with you others who may be instrumental to achieving the goal. Do not look back. It may cost hard trials, persecution, intimidation, severe attacks from Satan's territory but you will get there. Watch, work, pray and depend on God for grace and direction.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The price of accomplishment is perseverance.
