Data From Lamudi Confirms The Most Sought-After Areas By House Hunters

THE FIVE MOST POPULAR RESIDENTIAL AREAS IN ACCRA

Accra is one of Africa’s largest cities. With growing urbanization coupled with local and foreign investment, individuals are increasingly attracted to the city’s allure. The need for a living space has assumed a more important dimension as a result.

With data compiled by Lamudi.com.gh, below is a list of the top five most popular neighborhoods in Ghana’s capital.

1. East Legon
One of Ghana’s most illustrious neighborhoods, East Legon is the perfect location for many house-hunters in Ghana. According to data gathered by Lamudi Ghana, East Legon polled 16.51 percent of searches made on Lamudi in the first quarter of 2015. The neighborhood’s proximity to the nation’s sole international airport and second biggest mall makes it an attractive location for house hunters.

2. Cantonments
A neighborhood that used to house colonial-era workers, Cantonments was one of Accra’s foremost created neighborhoods. The neighborhood is primarily home to those in the upper-middle income bracket. Data obtained from Lamudi Ghana indicates that 7.35 percent of searches were made on Cantonments in the first quarter of 2015, making it the second most searched area in Accra.

3. Spintex
A mix of the industrial and residential, Spintex is another neighborhood that enjoys widespread popularity. Lamudi Ghana’s data indicates that Spintex is the third most sought after area by house hunters, polling 7.31 percent of searches. With increasing developments of apartments and houses, it is expected that Spintex will remain a major locality in Accra.

4. Airport Residential Area
As its name suggests, the neighborhood is located within a short range of the Kotoka International Airport. This proximity has helped shore up the status of the neighborhood, making it a desired location for locals and foreigners alike. Lamudi Ghana’s data indicates that this area polled 7.21 percent of searches on its website.

5. Dzorwulu
Last but not least on this list is Dzorwulu. It is home to many Ghanaians and foreigners, with some commercial activities available to liven up the place. Data gathered from Lamudi shows that Dzorwulu is the fifth most popular neighborhood in Accra, polling 3.9 percent of searches on the property portal.
