Matthew 26:36-39
The reward of wisdom is greater than the reward of foolishness! Seek to be wise. Everybody is born to win but not everybody wins in life. However, if you are going to win in life, you need to condition yourself to win. Your conditioning is superior to your gifting and it is superior to your talent.

The truth of life is that there are more geniuses among the ranks of failures in life more than you find among the ranks of successful people. It is always easier for an averagely good person to fail. Therefore, focus more on your conditioning than just celebrating your talents and gifts.

Let us examine our text again
Matthew 26:36 says, “then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder”. Notice that there were twelve people altogether: eleven disciples and Jesus.

Verse 37 “And He took with him peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy”. When He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, we would notice that 8 people were remaining. Three went further with Jesus.

Verse 38 “then saith He unto them, my soul is exceeding sorrowful even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me and he went a little further.

And he went a little further. Those six words can transform your life because that is the distinguishing mark of a leader and a leadership spirit. It doesn't matter the title, a leadership spirit is seen in somebody going a little further than the rest of his contemporaries. If you want to identify a leading footballer, you will see that after the official football practice is over and everybody is required to go and rest, he will go on a little further to practice his area of specialty.

If you see somebody that is going a little bit further than the others you are seeing a leadership spirit developing and if you want to develop and awaken the spirit of leadership in you, you must accept the responsibility of going a little further. Look at what everybody has done, then go a little further even when it is not officially required of you.

Prayer: Lord, deliver me form the spirit that only seeks to do just enough. Baptize me with the heart that goes a little further in Jesus' name.
