three phases

Rev O. Areogun
- Acts 9:1-22
There are three phases of life for every of us and they are what we called the present, past and the future. These three aspects of life are very essential to human race because every man has a yesterday, today and tomorrow (past, present and future).

The Past: No matter how bad your past could have been you have a better tomorrow. Many people focus on the past and the devil is happy at this because he is always in the practise of using your past to hold you down in life. You need to realize that yesterday is not in your control anymore, tomorrow has not yet come but today is what you have with you. There is nothing you can do with the past only allow the past to go and use it for testimony but never allow the past to hurt you. If you focus your energy on repairing the bad road of your past, you will not have enough energy to construct the bridge into your future.

The Present: The main thing you need in life is your present because you only know your future but you cannot get there until you pass through your today well. It is your today that will determine how the future will be. That is why God always gives you something to do today to ensure that your tomorrow is a reality. Always know what to do today so that you can work in the reality of tomorrow. Many people, do not know how to manage their today, they spend their today in a way that can't give them their tomorrow. You must get something inside of you today stronger than your past to take the future.

The future:  One of the things you must continually tell yourself is that your future is great. Your best is yet to come. It does not matter what the devil has done in your past, God can do much more in your future. According to the passage you have read today, we see the life of Saul that became Brother Paul. He had a great destiny in the plan of God for him but his past was very bad. He persecuted and killed many Christians (Acts 9: 1-2). This was how used his past but when Jesus met him on his way to Damascus to fulfil the mandate of persecuting the Christians everything about him changed and he began a new life. He never allowed his past to hurt him in any form but he maximized his present very well by putting many things inside himself to accomplish his vision in life.

Paul never at any time allowed what he was passing through affect his future, but accepted it and dealt with it in order to take the future and fulfil it.  Don't allow the past to hurt you, maximize today by following God fully and sowing the seeds of greatness into your future. Listen to God's word daily, pray daily, allow Him to be your leader indeed, take decisions and responsibilities in line with the purpose of God for your life and your tomorrow will be great in Jesus' name.

Prayer: I receive the grace to maximize my today and take steps that position me in the highest counsel of God tomorrow in Jesus' name, amen.
