   Lack of preparation is one of the ways people lay a wrong foundation for their marriages. Lots of people prepare for the wedding day, but very few people prepare for marriage. Preparation is said to be the mother of success. Without it, failure is as certain as the sun rising in the morning.

Every young man or woman going into marriage should prepare adequately for it in the following ways:

-          Mental preparation. Change every bad notion.

-          Spiritual preparation. Pray aggressively for your marriage and your spouse, pray for your future, listen to God and put God first.

-          Matrimonial preparation. Attend pre-marital training, go for counselling, read quality books about marriage, listen to tapes, attend seminars and marriage schools.

-          Financial preparation. Have a regular source of income.

-          Character Preparation. Change all bad characters.

-          Social Preparation. Learn how to live with the opposite sex (your spouse) and your in-laws.

-          Domestic preparation. Know how to handle issues at home.

-          Parenting preparation. Learn how to be a parent.
