respect your husband

This simply means to recognize his authority over you; to honour him, to accept, see and treat him as your head, leader, mentor and father.

Don't say husbands are generally the head of their wives; say, “my husband is my head.

If you truly respect your husband there will be no power struggle or Olympic spirit (Spirit of competition).

How to Know If You Are Not Respecting Your Husband

You constantly argue with him.
You nag at him
Fighting for the leadership of the family
You always find it difficult to say “I am sorry” when you offend him.

You embarrass him openly.
You honour your boss, pastor or friend more than him.

You disdain his leadership, you always resist his command.

You deny him sex often or he struggles with you before he can sleep with you.

You abuse him or argue with him in the presence of children or outsiders.

 You often disobey him.
You respect him outwardly but resent him on the inside.

Seeking your leadership elsewhere-from your parent, a pastor, a friend or someone you think is more highly placed or referenced than your husband.
