The name mirrors your image, personality, attitude and the way you want to foresee your child as. Cute baby names can go well till a baby remains a child, but as he steps into adolescence, then this name will not match his or her image. Naming a child needs a sensibility and responsibility.

As soon as the news comes of your stepping into parenthood, you start imagining your baby name. Usually overwhelming father starts thinking of baby girl names and mother imagine baby boy names. They keep gathering names from friends, consulting books, through internet and create their own names. It is a belief that a name affects everything from a child's self confidence to his grades in school and in his professional life. A name remains same throughout his life so the pressure and responsibility are more upon parents.

There are lots of considerations when you are deciding on a baby name such as meaning, significance, tradition, family history, initials and pronunciation. The name should not bring embarrassment in future; they should be different but not weird.

While naming your child, parents should consider pronunciation, it should not be harsh or melodious when pronounced loudly. Usually the longer first name goes well with the shorter Surname or the middle name and vice versa for example, Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, Eva Anderson, Kate Winslet and many more. Avoid ending a name with a vowel whose second name starts with a vowel. The first and second name should not be rhythmical.

Naming distinctive or different could make you stand out in a crowd, but there should be a difference between a unique name and a crazy or weird name. In a race to be different if you name your baby instinctively or impulsively, then the child will be stuck with it for the rest of his life. Being different also has some advantage, if you name your child John then there would be five to six students with the same name in the same class, if you name Moxie, it could make him stand alone and noticeable.

If you name your baby Moses it doesn't mean that people will treat him like Moses. It is your respect, belief and thanks to God, but others won't think in the same way. With a name like North West, maybe the parents feel happy, but what the child would understand by this name when she grows up? The proper meaning to a name would always be beneficial for your child's future.

One can consider timeless or common names like John, James, William, David, Mary, Sarah, Elizabeth, Sonia, Sophia, Michael, Emma and many more. With these biblical names one is far from being embarrassed. These names are classy, traditional and never out of fashion as they create a bond between ancient and modern trend. William can be old as well as young. The drawbacks with these names are that they sound boring and very common. Among each ten names there will be one John or James.

One can go weird if one has the guts or creative profession. Celebrities name their child according to their mind and craziness. To be in the limelight, to grab attention or to be on top of the search engine, the celebrities are obsessed with names like Bear, Moxie Crime Fighter, Apple, Audio Science, Valor, Everest Hobson, Moon Unit, Diva Muffin, Daisy Boo and much more to astonish. Most of the celebrities have their memories, thoughts and idiosyncrasies after naming their babies.

Nowadays naming has become more subjective than objective. Like that of Shannyn Sossamon and actress Dallas Clayton's son Audio Science, only parents can find the reason behind this name. One shouldn't follow their mind rather they should ponder about the future or the impact of these names on society and the future generation.

Options for baby name can go beyond weird, names like Winter, Namaste, Jameliah, Stormy, Cameo, Grudzel and many more falls in this category. The advantage of keeping such names is that they will raise eyebrows. If the kid is awesome, then the name will prove its worth. The fallout will be that this name will be questioned regarding the meaning and spelling every time throughout his life. Their name may be the center of mock in the school, they will be treated differently, and they may face difficulty in getting jobs and every time they have to explain their name and its meaning. It is always advisable to go little weird, but not too weird. For instance, Ashton, Wyatt, Luca, Brooklyn, Delaney and Alexia could be a better choice than other names.

Parents should and need to think about the impact and longevity of their baby name. A deep understanding, sensibility and responsibility are required before considering a name. Family values should be considered and a thought how you would like them to be a valuable contributor to the society.

One golden rule to be followed while naming is that they should come out of love, appreciation and thankfulness to god, the name automatically would be as beautiful as parents.

In an utter state of confusion, follow the Irish tradition for naming baby boys and girls:

For Boys

Oldest son named after the father's father

Second son named after the mother's father

Third son named after the father

Fourth son named after the father's oldest brother

For Girls

Oldest daughter named after the mother's mother

Second daughter named after the father's mother

Third daughter named after the mother

Fourth daughter named after the mother's oldest sister

The name mirrors your image, personality, attitude and the way you want to foresee your child as. There are lots of considerations when you are deciding on a baby name such as meaning, significance, tradition, family history, initials and pronunciation.

The name should not bring embarrassment in future; they should be different but not weird. A name remains same throughout his life so the pressure and responsibility are more upon parents.
