power of your will

- Hebrews 10:5-9
Salvation is free, but it cost God the life of His only begotten Son. And so, when you get born again, the first thing God also demands from you is the power of your will. He must have it (Colossians l: 12-19). At salvation, the first miracle the Lord performs in our lives among other things is to relocate us from the dominion and control of darkness and reposition us to Himself. He thereafter demands that we reposition ourselves to Him. Let us see the following points on the power of your will:

What God will do in your life, with your life and through your life is a function of who is in control of your will- God, Satan or you. If God cannot have your will on any issue of your life, He has no “locus standi” or right into your life to work in that area or issue of your life. Until you know the power of your will, you will not channel it towards the purpose and plan of God for your life. Whoever has your will determines how you will end up in life. Consider your life where you are now, will you say you are submitting your will to God? Let me show you some practical examples from the Bible.

Satan became what he is today because he used his will against God. Look at Isaiah 14:12-15, the devil continually positioned his will against God. Look at how Satan exercised his will in Isaiah 14:12-15.

I will ascend into heaven
I will exalt my throne above the stars of God
I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation

I will ascend above the heights of the clouds
I will be like the Most high.
Look at satan all the time, his will was always conflicting with God. He paid dearly for it. He was brought down to hell. No matter the height that a man may attain in life, the moment he begins to exercise his will against God, he will begin to come down from that point. In the same way, no matter the depth of mistake or crises that a man may find himself, the moment he begins to align his will with the will of God, God will begin to bring him out from that point. Look at the prodigal son for example, he got himself into a serious mess, he moved from the height of blessing and security of a father into the curse of servitude but when he began to align his will with the will of God, things changed for him. In his condition of shame, he rose up one morning and said:

I will arise
I will go back to my father
I will say to my father, I have sinned against heaven and you…

And because he used his will this way, he came out of that shame. In case you are at the height of glory in life today, do not commit the error of Lucifer. If you are in the situation of the prodigal son today, begin to align your will with the will of God and the Word of God and sooner than you thought, you will come out of that shame. If you are in the will of God, make sure you do not come out of it and the Lord will bless you in Jesus' name.

Prayer: Father, help me to continually yield my will to you in life in Jesus' name.
