Sometimes People Complain About Others Reminding Them Of Their Past; But I Think It Makes Sense And Sometimes It Doesn't

23.03.2014 LISTEN
By Douglas Kwabena Yeboah, University Of Calgary, Canada

*I think it's important to remember your past...it keeps you humble. we need to be better at this. If you don't remember the past and learn from it, history will repeat itself.

*In my experience, most people who hate their past being brought up because they're "better now" actually aren't any better and just don't like to have their bubble popped.

*That's all good and well if (he/she)'s made an actual change for the better. Not if s/he KEEPS REPEATING his/her old ways and making you pay for it. Ignishia Aziriga

*Once I was actually working to become better, my past was integral to the process and I welcomed the chance to make amends for something someone else still had feelings over.

*Actually when s/he wants to change and you remind him/her, it builds up frustration, and that is energy. If s/he uses energy against you - it might be a fight. If s/he uses energy to change faster - s/he will change faster.

I THINK IF YOU DO/KEEP DOING THE RIGHT THING NOBODY WILL REMIND YOU OF YOUR PAST, BUT IF YOU KEEP REPEATING THE OLD MISTAKES THEN YOU WILL ALWAYS BE REMINDED OF YOUR FUCKING HORRIBLE PAST. LIFE SHOULDN'T ALWAYS BE BUILT ON 'TRIAL AND ERROR', WHICH I THINK IS COSTLY.
