4. Chilled wedding, Japan

Melessa and Rick Clark made sure their wedding was well attended – by holding it in New York's Times Square on New Year's Eve. At least they didn't have to tidy up the next day…

8. Zip, zip hooray! Thailand
As if getting married wasn't exhilirating enough, Thai groom Prasit Rangsiyawong and his bride Varuttaon Rangsiyawong followed their wedding ceremony with a thrilling zipwire ride, which saw them plunged into a pond. That'll be some dry cleaning bill…

9. Wedding on two wheels, Russia
Who needs a fancy car to transport you to the reception when you've got a bike as cool as this? Newlywed Yelena Babkini and her new hubby hopped on their cycles for a romantic ride following their wedding in Moscow.

10. With this forklift, I thee wed, China
Forklift driver Kong Qingyang met his bride Shen Likun, a forklift seller, when she sold him a forklift. So we guess it makes sense that instead of a wedding car for their wedding in August 2011 they had – yep, you've guessed it… a forklift.
