Koforidua, May 22, GNA - Dr Herbet Henry Lartey, Leader of the Great Consolidated People's Party (GCPP), has posited that the GCPP stood to be the most formidable political party which Ghanaians should consider giving power to, come 2016.

He said Ghanaians should break the myth that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is the only strong opposition party and the assertion that there was no formidable third force to wrestle power from the present incompetent ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.

'The GCPP is and should be regarded as the next formidable force in the Ghanaian political landscape, since the NPP does not seem to be ready for power in 2016,' he said.

Dr Lartey, who spoke in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Koforidua, said it was only the GCPP which had both strong domestic and international solutions to the present power crises facing the country.

According to him, God had endowed Ghana with every resource needed to improve the living conditions of the citizenry, but unfortunately, the nation was yearning for very reliable political managers, to rescue Ghanaians from the economic hardships.

'I would want to implore all Ghanaians to test and taste a new government other than the NDC and the NPP; the GCPP is very ready to receive their mandate to offer them good leadership, good governance and a happy economic living,' he said.

Dr Lartey said so far the GCPP was working on its regional structures, adding that, the Party's leadership had toured and was still touring the entire country with the 'domestication' message, which most Ghanaians appreciate as the only solution to the nation's economic predicament.

The leader of the GCPP asserted that the 'domestication' ideology would revive all dead local industries, boost local production and make Ghana a highly exporting nation, rather than a highly importing one.

Dr Lartey said the GCPP was coming with a full force to capture power in 2016, and urged Ghanaians to join the winning team and consider voting for the GCPP at the general elections.
