With the parliamentary primaries of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) looming, the National Chairman of the party, Paul Awentani Afoko has called on party officials to be united and abstain from any tendency that has the potential of dividing the rank and file of the party at the various constituencies across the country.

According to chairman Afoko, in his estimation Ghanaians are calling on the NPP to save the country from the gross economic mismanagement of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The chairman made these remarks when he met party officials in Takoradi last week and urged the gathering to consider only people who could win political power in their quest for Parliamentary Candidates.

"Your only consideration in the selection of Parliamentary candidates should be how the person can win us more votes in both Parliamentary and Presidential", he stated.

The General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong also called for greater discipline in the party. He cautioned members who run to the media, with the aim of running another party member down, to be careful because, “The National Council has drawn the line and will apply punitive sanctions”.

Mr. Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong are currently touring regional capitals to roll out the party’s new plan for Power.

The two national executives assured the 'front line soldiers' of readiness to steer the affairs of the party to victory 2016.

The parliamentary primaries slated for June 13 this year.
