Jomoro Constituency NDC executives call for DCE's dismissal
21.04.2015 LISTEN

Half Assini, April 21, GNA - The Jomoro Constituency Executives of the National Democratic Party (NDC) on Monday appealed to the Present, to dismiss the District Chief Executive, DCE) Mr Sylvester Nuomah Daddieh from office for alleged incompetence.

They also accused him of being factionist, greedy and neglect of the executives of the party.

The executives made the appeal after a peaceful demonstration at the premises of the District Assembly at Half Assini.

The demonstrators dressed in red arm and head bands, held placards the inscriptions on some of which read 'DCE should go, President Mahama, 'DCE not compromising with new constituency executives, Jomoro Youth fed up with DCE'.

They prevented the DCE from entering his office for some time, before some members of the District Security Council (DSEC) intervened and held an emergency closed-door meeting with them and the DCE at the Conference Hall of the Assembly Guest House.

The outcome of the meeting was not made known to the public.

Briefing newsmen after the meeting, the constituency chairman of the NDC, Mr Gideon Koniba, said the DCE had been attending programmes and functions without their involvement, and was also not funding the party.

This, Mr Koniba said, had resulted in the grounding of the party's Propaganda Van.

He said the DCE had not been feeding the executives with information on government programme and activities.

Speaking to the press, the DCE denied all the allegations and described them as baseless and unfounded, adding that they were calculated attempts to tarnish his image.

He appealed to the members to come down in the interest of the party.

Mr Daddieh later led newsmen to inspect some projects that had been undertaken during his tenure of office.

Until his appointment, the DCE was in 2011, the Constituency Secretary and district NADMO Coordinator.
