The Member of Parliament for Dome/Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has revealed that her constituents are once again ready to spearhead the New Patriotic Party's (NPP's) quest for power in 2016 and would leave no stone unturned to ensure that their objective was achieved.

According to her, just like they did in the previous election, her constituents have resolved to fight and expose any election fraud, irregularities and malpractices, believing that their plan when well executed, would win power for the NPP, which would see the party's flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, becoming the next president of Ghana.

The legislator said this last Thursday when she picked her nomination forms at the party's constituency office to once again contest the parliamentary primary scheduled for May 2015.

During the 2012 elections, Dome/Kwabenya became the central point of reference for the NPP as they sought a court action to overturn the verdict of the Electoral Commission that saw the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and President John Dramani Mahama retaining power, following the discovery of massive electoral malpractices, irregularities and fraud.

The discovery, the legislator noted, was mainly due to the hard work of her constituents, especially her executives, polling station agents and the numerous followers and sympathisers of the elephant family who vowed to ensure the elections were not rigged in the constituency.

Their commitment, she said, would be strengthened whilst they mapped out new strategies that would ensure victory for the party in the 2016 elections.

According to Ms Safo, for the over two years that she has been in Parliament as her constituents' representative, she has been able to push for a lot of developmental projects in her area, among which are the construction of a maternity clinic at Haatso, distribution of 150 streetlights to provide light in the community to fight crime, and the construction of ten mechanised boreholes at a cost of GH¢250,000.

She further stated that she had set up scholarship schemes to promote girl child education and support needy but brilliant students in the constituency, and lobbied for the re-construction of the Dome market as well as the construction of a Senior High School which, she said, was in the pipeline.

A week to the picking of her nomination forms, the MP also donated six motorbikes to the Dome/Kwabenya District Police Command to facilitate their work in maintaining law and order in the constituency.

The First Vice Chairman of the NPP in the constituency, Jacob Kwebena Ameyaw, whilst presenting the nomination forms to the MP, decried the use of dirty campaign in the constituency and urged the legislator to remain disciplined and decorous as she has always been.
