Ahanta West NDC On Fire

Ahanta West NDC On Fire
17.10.2014 LISTEN

Kwesi Buah
Tempers are flaring within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the Ahanta West constituency of the Western Region, DAILY GUIDE can authoritatively declare.

This follows an alleged remark by the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, George Kwame Aboagye, to the effect that he could no longer work with the area's District Chief Executive (DCE), Joseph Dofoyena.

According to sources, the MP had subsequently written to President John

Mahama to remove the DCE from office because he (DCE) was performing poorly in the area.

Information available to DAILY GUIDE indicates that supporters of the NDC

in the constituency, particularly the youth, are not happy about the action

taken by George Aboagye and some of his utterances against DCE Dofoyena on

some radio stations.
Some of the youth had accused Mr. Aboagye of having a very sharp tongue and always ready to insult anybody at the least provocation.

'We don't like the way our MP openly and bitterly insults Joseph Dofoyena, the current Ahanta West DCE,' they asserted.

They have therefore warned of a possible skirmish if the party's national executives did nothing to address the alleged feud between the DCE and the MP.

Speaking on SKYY POWER FM in Takoradi recently, some of the aggrieved NDC youth vented their spleen on the MP for falsely accusing the DCE.

They described MP Aboagye as a very pompous person with no respect for anybody, and stressed that the party members would teach him a very bitter lesson come 2016.

Meanwhile, Solomon Nkansah, deputy national propaganda secretary of

the NDC, had called for ceasefire in the party in the constituency.

Speaking on the same radio programme, Nkansah, a former Western Regional Youth Organizer of the party, advised the aggrieved youth to resort to the proper avenues available for redress rather than washing their dirty linen in the open.

Mr. Kwesi Biney, a former DCE of the area, remarked that even though it was wrong for the MP to have said that he could no longer work with the DCE

because it was the president who appointed him, he (Biney) was not surprised at what was happening.

He explained that it was the same Dofoyena who allegedly ganged up with some assembly members in the area to 'fight' him (Biney) when the current DCE was an assembly member and Kwesi Biney was the DCE.

Commenting on the issue in an interview with DAILY GUIDE, Mr. Kwesi Buah, an assembly member of Mpanyinasa electoral area in the Ahanta West District, asked the MP and the DCE to stop the infighting and concentrate on the development of the area.

'Both the MP and the DCE are performing poorly in the district and instead of them to do well to develop the area, the two have resorted to internal bickering,' he lamented.

'If you go to the villages you will see that people are suffering a lot. Nothing has been done there, yet the NDC government is praising itself for doing a lot,' he asserted.

He revealed that people in Ahanta West were crying for the NPP to come back to power, because the NDC government had woefully disappointed them.

Kwesi Buah then made a passionate appeal to Ghanaians to vote the NDC

government out of power and vote massively for the NPP in 2016 to take Ghana to a higher level
