Asuogyaman constituency chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Wilfred Yevugah has assured party members and supporters of retaining back the parliamentary seat from the opposition New Patriotic Party in the upcoming December 2016 general elections.

He said that is the most priority of the new executives elected earlier this month at Anum.

Speaking to the reporter, Mr Yevugah emphasised that the party's defeat in the last general elections in the constituency did not go down well with both supporters and the party as a whole and stated the need for the new executives to work hard and win massively in the next elections.

He said the executives will work hard and bring back deserted members to the party and also strengthen unity that exist among members within the party in the constituency.

"I think we the new executives have a task to unseat NPP'S member of parliament for the area, Hon. Osei Ameyaw in the 2016 elections. But i also think it can achieve with hard work and unity," the chairman lamented.

Mr Yevugah however blamed their defeat in last elections on poor performance of former executives as well as choice of parliamentary candidate as Rev. Joses Asare Akoto, their former MP did nothing for the party. He assured supporters that the executives will also do their best in choosing credible and well-known candidate to lead the party in order to have the victory they seek for.

He therefore called on all to work hard and win the seat as well as increase votes of President Mahama and also appealed for peace and unity in the party at all times since the party is multi-tribal as executives will also do their best for the part'ys success.
