AUG 12, 2014 LISTEN

Deputy General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams says he poses a big threat to the opposition New Patriotic Party's (NPP) bid to win the 2016 general elections.

According to him, his decision to contest the National Organizer position of the NDC has sent shivers down the spine of the opposition party.

Kofi Adams who is also the spokesperson of former President Jerry Rawlings is confident of retaining power for the governing party if elected into office.

The NDC is gearing up for its national delegates congress on October 24th, 2014 to elect new officers to steers affairs in the party.   Most of the national executives hoping to retain their positions face stiff competition from others who deem themselves fit for the position.

Incumbent National Organizer, Yaw Boateng Gyan who will be seeking to retain his seat said he has accepted Kofi  Adams' challenge in good faith.

“We are the winning team for the party so it would have been beautiful if Kofi Adams remain at the Deputy General Secretary position so that in 2018 he comes for the General Secretary, instead of Organizer” he added.

But speaking on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen programme Monday, Kofi Adams said he has the magic wand to win power for the NDC in 2016.   He noted that he has the antidote to spot the NPP's vile propaganda which could be detrimental to the Mahama-led administration.
