The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has become unattractive to majority of Ghanaians who cannot accomodate the shenanigans of the party, Deputy Minister of Information, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has said.

According to him, NPP cannot be exonerated from the violent conduct of its supporters who have decided to live up to the All-die-be-die mantra of its presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo after the December general election.

The opposition party has refused to concede defeat in last Friday's general elections citing massive rigging in favour the incumbent president, John Mahama.

The NPP says it has enough evidence to prove the discrepancies in court and is confident the ruling of the Supreme Court can overturn the verdict of the Electoral Commission (EC).

However, some party supporters out of frustration, poured onto the streets to register their displeasure attacking journalists and some supporters of the ruling party.

The leadership of the NPP condemned the acts and urged the police to arrest any member who engaged in violence.

But Okudzeto Ablakwa on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen programme said the NPP has demonstrated that it is the most "violent and undemocratic" political party in the country's history.

He intimated that the electorates especially floating voters have regretted voting for the party due to what he says is the unwarranted attacks being meted out on them by hooligans of the NPP.

The Deputy Information Minister said the brand NPP has been heavily damaged and it will take a tsunami in the party to replace the lost integrity.

He wondered why NPP which announced to have substantial evidence to prove the discrepancies has refused to go to court five days after the polls.

Okudzeto Ablakwa intimated that the leadership of the NPP for fear of incurring the wrath of their agitated supporters has refused to accept the results they lost gracefully to the NDC to keep hopes alive.

"I blame all the riots and vandalism on the leadership of the NPP for totally misleading their supporters even when they know they have lost the election" he added.

He observed that considering the resounding International recognition of President Mahama as winner of the December 7 polls, "the NPP is in isolation and has made the party less attractive".

Okudzeto Ablakwa urged the NPP to look beyond the election and keep government on its toes as a responsible opposition.
