An ambitious Ghanaian career minded child advocate and communications student, Olivia Gyamfuwa Asante is working hard towards her dream of becoming the winner of her College's maiden beauty contest, the FACE of AUCC.
The special event the FACE of AUCC will take place at Cleva House on the campus of the University on the 7th May, 2011. During the auditions which took place on the 9th April,2011, Miss Olivia was one of the 10 beautiful ladies with brains selected to randomly represent each of the ten regions of Ghana. Ms Olivia who is sympathetic towards children issues and youth empowerment, will be the Face of Volta region. She is full of enthusiasm and is leaving no stone unturned to grab the ultimate crown. Her preparations to represent the region has taken her to Ho, Jasikan, Hohoe,Sogakope and Aflao for her to have a first hand feel of the region. She has eaten food from the region, learn some few vocabs, is learning popular traditional dances such as agbadza and borborbor to be able to thrill her fans on the day of the show.
In an interview with a Ghanaian Diaspora Media house based in New York, the AFRICA SANKOFA, Ms. Olivia expressed her desire and ambition to become one of the big names in fashion, modelling and in communications. With a dream to work for the United Nations one day, Ms Olivia will soon have her dream come to pass, should she win the crown, as an internship opportunities are being explored for her by an African Diaspora non-profit in New York, the International Center for African Culture & Arts
AUCC is an Accra based Africa's number one private university for communications. The Africa University College of Communications has within the short span of its existence produced quality graduates who are contributing in various ways towards the development of Ghana. The school's SRC which is hosting the maiden beauty pageant is working very hard to ensure that the event will live up to its hype.
