OMATEK set to open Resource Centres

As part of strategies to sustain the company's growth, Omatek, Africa's number one computer company, is planning to set up Resource Centres in collaboration with organisations and institutions of learning in Ghana.

The Managing Director of the company, Florence Seriki, gave the indication in Accra during the launch of Omatek e-Xpress, in conjunction with the Ministry of Communication under the umbrella of Ghana Government- assisted PC programme - i-Advance.

According her, the resource centres would go a long way to promoting the development of skills, entrepreneurship and innovation in the area of information and communications technology.

In the same vein, she stated that Omatek was also vigorously pursuing the establishment of chains of showrooms to bring its products and services to the doorsteps of its clients across the country.

'We are also ready to recruit more channel partners, resellers, franchises and service providers across Africa as part of our strategy to sustain growth.

'Omatek Resource Centres will be set up on mutually agreeable terms worked out between Omatek and its counterpart organisation using Omatek products', she said.

According to her, the Omatek brand had gained wide acceptability as the only company in Africa that produces computers and casings from completely knocked down components sourced from the highest grades of manufacturers.

This, she said, makes all Omatek computers of world class standards comparable to any other foreign brand.

She listed the services to be provided by the Omatek resource centers as

keeping of basic buffer stock for customers by Omatek resource Engineers, direct link to Omatek factory, Internet-based Helpdesk/Portal system, annual schedule training and technical update, servicing of PCs and other Omatek products brought in by clients, routine maintenance checks on all PCs and other Omatek   products and replacement of faulty parts on PCs and other Omatek products sold.
