AFTER PLAYING hide-and-seek with the police, the radio presenter who was accused of performing an illegal abortion on a 21-year-old girl after allegedly impregnating her, has finally reported to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Police Service.

A source at DOVVSU told DAILY GUIDE that the victim had made an official report to them, and they subsequently wrote to the suspect, who is the son of the Vice Chancellor of a reputable university.

The source indicated that a warrant was going to be issued for the presenter's arrest but he showed up yesterday.

He was said to have gone there in the company of a family friend and a lawyer, to answer charges leveled against him by the victim.

The source said DOVVSU, as part of their investigations, took a statement from the victim and subsequently invited the presenter to respond to the allegation.

The victim said her relationship with the man started when he lured her to his house where she was compelled to pass the night because it was too late for her to go home.

The aggrieved lady had claimed that after getting her pregnant, the radio presenter inserted two tablets of Cytotec in her vagina, after which she bled for an unusual number of days.

She told DAILY GUIDE that the presenter, who said he was not ready to have children, decided to abort the pregnancy, which she objected to.

“He invited me to his house on June 22, asked me to lie down with my legs opened ajar, looked into my private parts and inserted two (Cytotec) tablets which he claimed was given to him by his doctor-friend and after, he gave me GH˘4.50 for transport home.

“I bled seriously from June 22 to July 13. When my situation became worse and the presenter ignored me, I called one of his colleagues at the station and narrated the ordeal I was going through to him.”

The victim stated that the presenter later called and directed her to his doctor-friend at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for treatment.

She stressed that after conducting a medical examination on her, the doctor prescribed drugs and gave her some money to buy them.

It was alleged that after the sordid act, the presenter did not bother to take a 'second look' at the lady and went public for being slighted.

Some of the flurry of text messages she claimed her aggressor fired to her read: “Well, I'm just warning you. This is the last straw.

If it happens again I'm going to the Police,” and “Well, you better learn to let go because if it happens again I'm going straight to the Police and the law courts. I don't think I will ever feel anything for you ever again.”

In a correspondence she composed, the aggrieved lady pointed out that “he even called and said if because of this (sic) that I would take him to any fetish or juju I can go because people from the Volta Region are always known for that.”

DAILY GUIDE's investigation has indicated that the lady's bleeding has still not ceased, and that further examination by doctors have revealed that she needs a 'clean-up' in her womb since the alleged earlier abortion was not done properly.
